We are looking for help and support in inspecting and reporting on the condition and accessibility of the public footpaths in the Parish.

Recent legislation has changed the requirements for inspection, upkeep and maintenance of footpaths and the work involved is too much for our current footpaths officer to do on his own.

We have divided the parish into 6 areas, (Bagwyllydiart footpaths, Broad Oak footpaths, Garway Village footpaths, Garway Village North footpaths, Paths between Broad Oak and Garway, White Rocks). We are looking for volunteers to assume responsibility for one of each of these areas. As you will see some of the areas have more paths on them than others, hopefully to give 'something for everyone'

Volunteers would need to commit to walking all the paths in their area twice a year, reporting any problems of access etc. to a Coordinating Footpath Officer, who would then arrange for a contractor to deal with any problems including strimming, maintaining signage and removing brambles etc. from stiles.
